Birding in Rwanda
Though Rwanda has no single endemic bird species, its small landlocked size of about 26000km² (roughly bigger than the Tsavos National Park in Kenya) is strange, for it holds nearly 700 species of birds. This figure alone surpasses all the East African countries namely Kenya Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi.

Habitats are made up of misty mountains, swamps and forests with farmed steep terrain and easily can an avid birder avi-comb the country in 2 weeks.


Despite the country having suffered remarkably in the 90s they still hold

A.
It is better to book as far in advance as possible to ensure availability at the time you wish to travel (4-6 months) or even one year , especially during the high / peak season –June - October and during Christmas and New Year season.
